Cris Arbo's illustration has garnered over 40 awards and honors. Illustration clients have included Franklin Watts, Frederick Warne, A.R.E. Press, Dawn Publications, and the BBC.
She worked as a background artist, tracer and painter on animated feature films, half-hour cartoons and T.V. commercials in New York and London. Studios included Jack Stokes Cartoons, Halas and Bachelor, Euromation and Richard Williams Animation.
She was born on Martha's Vineyard Island, Massachusetts, and received her BA from William Paterson University in New Jersey with a major in art and a minor in theater arts.

Cris also worked as art director for the Dance Centre, Covent Garden, where she had been studying classical and modern ballet. In addition to murals she produced advertising and illustration for their dance magazine.

She also performed as vocalist with the London Philharmonic, London Symphony, the BBC Choral Society and the New Philharmonia. Cris lives in Virginia where she continues to paint murals, book and magazine illustrations, advertising and private commissions.

She creates all her artwork by hand, without the use of a computer. She is available for conference presentations, where she places a special emphasis on the joys and challenges of being an artist.
